Shih Tzu - Senior - Female
Adoptable Small Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

This is little “Ginger,” a 12 year old, sweet-as-pie Shih Tzu, who recently lost her home due to several health issues facing her former owner.

Ginger was raised with other dogs and gets along extremely well with both dogs and cats. She has a loving, gentle, and non-alpha personality. She is a very flexible girl. Her foster family watched with amazement when, after 12 years in one home, Ginger effortlessly and seamlessly slid into a new home with new routines…without ever missing a beat.

She’s a lively girl, considering that she’s a senior, and she has no serious health concerns.

Ginger loves going for walks and is a great passenger in the car, happy to curl up and nap. She is undemanding and would make a great addition to a household where someone is usually at home. (Ginger likes to know there is someone home with her!) She is also very good when being groomed — her groomer gave her an A+ on her report card!

She is spayed and has been microchipped. She’s heartworm negative and is current on her Rabies, DHP/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines.

Ginger’s adoption fee is $300.

If you are interested in Ginger and think she may be your ideal canine companion, please visit our website at for information on our adoption process and to download an application, or you may e-mail us at for additional information, or to request an application.

Please note that Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, but we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

We offer a 3-week trial period with all our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adoptive family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have the perfect “forever” home!
