Dachshund - Senior - Male
Adoptable Small Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

Meet Coco… a very handsome chocolate, 9-year-old Dachshund. We rescued Coco from Animal Control, where he was taken when his elderly owner was no longer able to are for him.

Coco is a true ‘southern gentleman’! He’s fairly laid-back, and enjoys meeting and greeting all his house guests, adults and children alike. Coco is definitely not a guard dog!

Coco also has good house manners… it’s evident that he’s used to living ‘the good life’. He has been well house-trained in his foster home, and has been sleeping in a crate… although we know he does not enjoy it, and would rather snuggle next to his special person.

Coco is currently a little overweight, at 20-lbs., and should weigh about 15-lbs. With a low-calorie diet, and plenty of exercise, he should get down to a healthy weight in no time.

Coco gets along fairly well with the other dogs in his foster home, but we feel he’d probably enjoy being an ‘only-dog’, since he doesn’t really interact with any of them. He has started showing an interest in playing with toys, and enjoys going for walks and car rides.

Coco is in good health, and is neutered, microchipped, current on his Rabies, DHP/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines. He tested negative for Heartworms and is on Heartworm and flea prevention. Coco also had a dental cleaning and had bloodwork done.

Coco’s adoption fee is $275.00.

Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a 3-week trial period with all our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adoptive family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have the perfect “forever” home!

Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, but we never “ship” or “transport” our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.
